Pixel Fold 2 with 7.9″ foldable display, under screen camera surfaces

After the live images that surfaced earlier this month, CAD-based renders of the Pixel Fold 2, Google’s second foldable phone has surfaced, thanks to @OnLeaks.

This shows a larger 6.4″ outer screen and a 7.9″ foldable inner screen, compared to 7.6″ foldable and 5.8″ outer displays in the first Pixel Fold. The render shows triple rear cameras for the phone, including a telephoto camera.

It also shows a camera on the right side of the inner screen, which is said to be an under-display camera setup accompanied by a new sensor. When folded, the Fold 2 is said to measure 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54 mm compared to 139.7 x 79.5 x 12.1mm, making it slimmer and narrower, but taller than the older model.

We can expect Tensor G4 to power the Fold 2, and a prototype with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage surfaced recently, an upgrade from last year’s model.

The original Pixel Fold was revealed in May 2023 at Google I/O, so we can expect a teaser at the I/O 2024, and it could launch later this year along with the Pixel 9 series.
