HMD’s repairable smartphone teased ahead of July launch

HMD announced at its MWC event that it will launch a repairable phone later this year, substantially reducing the number of steps it takes to fix the screen. After teasing the entry-level phone, the company has now started teasing its repairable phone on its social channels.

This show two phones, one in Grey and other one in Pink, and it shows the HMD logo in the middle. It should come in more colours. It shows that the phone will have a 108MP sensor, as rumoured earlier.

“You can say goodbye to phone separation due to a broken screen and get swept up in the ‘FIY’ (Fix it Yourself) movement,” said the company when teasing the phone at its MWC event earlier this week.

HMD has confirmed that the Barbie flip phone is coming in May 2024, and other models including the repairable phone will launch in July.

The silver / grey coloured phone is expected to support the HMD Fusion case, for which the company has released a toolkit for developers on the HMD global website.
