Nothing Phone (2a) name confirmed; CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro coming soon

Nothing in its Q4 2023 community update confirmed that it will launch the Nothing Phone (2a) smartphone soon. It has also revealed plans to launch new audio products this year.

Nothing also said that it saw strong performance from India, Middle East, Germany, Hong Kong and the U.K., and it took a much shorter time to hit 2 million unit sales market for its devices combined which it achieved by the end of 2023.

In 2023, Nothing said that it focused on expanding its engineering capabilities across seven offices worldwide, resulting in the successful launch of two second-generation products – Nothing Phone (2) and the Nothing ear (2).

Nothing Phone (2a)

Nothing says that the Phone (2a) has been engineered with a focus on providing the optimal daily smartphone experience, doubling down on core user needs, with all of Nothing’s expertise and craftsmanship.

Carl Pei already hinted at the codename Aerodactyl. The phone will leverage some of the most loved Phone (2) features, while ensuring a clear upgrade compared to Phone (1) on every front, said the company.

Based on earlier rumours, the Nothing Phone (2a) is said to feature a 6.7″ 120Hz AMOLED screen, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, feature a 50MP 1/1.5″ Samsung S5KGN9 sensor along with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide camera in the rear and a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor for the front.

It also revealed that the phone will stick to 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB versions, and won’t come in 12GB + 512GB model like the Nothing Phone (2).

The phone is said to come in Black and White colours and is said to be priced under 400 Euros (USD 431 / Rs. 35,835 approx.) for the base model. We can expect more details at the MWC 2024 since the company has scheduled an event at the MWC 2024 on February 27th.

CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro coming soon

After a cryptic teaser, CMF by Nothing has announced that CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro are coming soon without revealing any other details.

The CMF Buds Pro was launched last year, so the Buds should be a cheaper model, and the Neckband is a new category. Since this has Pro in its name, we can expect ANC support.

Glyph developer Kit

In addition, the company shared that it’s launching Glyph Developer Kit, which gives 3rd party Android apps the ability to control the Glyph Interface, unique to Nothing smartphones.

Furthermore, Nothing named Jillian Gerngross the new VP of Marketing. With 12 years of experience at Amazon Music, she will oversee the global marketing strategy, including launches of Nothing phones and new products on the audio side, promising to make this category even more fun, said the company.
