OnePlus announces ‘deeper integrations’ with OPPO

OnePlus has announced that the company will soon integrate more of their organizational resources with their parent company, OPPO, to streamline operations and produce better products. In a blog post, Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus explained how the two companies will bring many teams within the companies together, and pool and share resources.

Since, Pete Lau has already been overseeing product strategy in both OnePlus and OPPO. So it is no surprise that the decision was made to bring the two companies closer together and share resources.

In the blog post, he said:

As many of you know, last year I took on some additional responsibilities to oversee product strategy for both OnePlus and OPPO. Since then, we have integrated a number of our teams together with OPPO to better streamline our operations and capitalize on additional shared resources. After seeing positive impact from those changes, we’ve decided to further integrate our organization with OPPO.

One of the advantages of this integration that Pete Lau highlighted was the ability to bring faster and more stable software updates for OnePlus users. This is definitely an area where OnePlus has been struggling lately, and it would be great to see some improvement.

The OnePlus brand will continue to operate independently, however. Even after the integration, the company will continue to launch OnePlus products, hold events and interact with the OnePlus community just like before.
