Samsung Galaxy S23 Unpacked event scheduled for February 1, reveals official website

Update: According to a new leak from tipster Ice Universe, a poster from Samsung Columbia website reveals February 1st launch date for the Galaxy S23 series. It has a tag line ‘Epic moments are coming’ along with the link to the website.

Earlier: We had heard several rumours about the Galaxy S23 series launching in early February. Even though some rumours pointed to February 8th launch date, the new Tweet from the popular leaker says that Samsung is reportedly planning to hold a formal Unpacked event on February 1st, a week earlier than expected.

To remind you, Samsung released the Galaxy S22 series on February 9, 2022. Based on latest reports, the event will happen in San Francisco. Samsung normally has a public event and releases the product on “Friday in two weeks,” so the Galaxy S23 series is expected to go on sale on February 17, 2023.

Based on rumours, and benchmark listings, the S23 series will use a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with clock speeds up to 3.36GHz compared to 3.2GHz in the standard version. Based on reports, the company is not planning to launch an Exynos version of the phone, so all the markets should get the Snapdragon chip.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra  (SM-S9180) even got certified in China, two months before the revealing the 200MP camera and other specifications of the phone. The Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ should retain the 50MP camera. These should run Android 13 with OneUI 5.

Samsung usually confirms the launch date two weeks before the event, so we will have to wait till January 18th for the official confirmation.
