Jio-bp collaborates with MG Motor and Castrol India for EV charging infrastructure and service

With the growing popularity of electric vehicles in India, there is an urgent need for the development of EV charging infrastructure to keep up with the rate of EV growth. And now, there’s some good news from Jio-bp, which has partnered with MG Motor India and Castrol India to increase EV adoption and mobility in India by establishing four-wheeler EV charging infrastructure and expanding Castrol’s existing auto service network to serve EV customers.

Under this collaboration, Jio-bp will contribute to the improvement of charging infrastructure by developing an ecosystem that will benefit all stakeholders in the EV value chain, as well as the Jio-bp pulse mobile app, which will allow customers to find charging stations nearby and seamlessly charge their EVs, while MG Motor aims to create EV-friendly roads for inter-city and intra-city travel by establishing a robust EV charging and service infrastructure in the country.

Furthermore, Castrol intends to begin serving four-wheeler electric vehicles through its existing multi-brand Auto Service network and Express Oil Change locations, which will be available in India at Jio-bp mobility stations and select Castrol Auto Service workshops and will cover both electric and non-electric four-wheelers.

Castrol will also assist in the installation of EV charging infrastructure across its auto service network, and will use its extensive network of car mechanics to provide them with specialised EV training and certification, as they will need to be up-to-date on the latest automotive technologies.

As of now, this appears to be a good partnership which might contribute to the growth of electric vehicles. We’ll have to wait and see how this collaboration pans out in the coming months.
