Xiaomi begins Android 12 internal testing for range of smartphones

Google, last month, officially unveiled Android 12 and started rolling out Android 12 Stable updates for eligible Pixel smartphones. Xiaomi had also announced Android 12 Public Beta for some of its flagship range devices including Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11, and Mi 11 (Mi 11X Pro in India). Now, the Chinese smartphone giant seems to be gearing up to bring Android 12 to more handsets.

The latest finding by Xiaomiui, a famous Xiaomi-centric blog, claims that the company has started testing Android 12 internally for the recently launched Redmi Note 11 Pro series. Apart from it, Android 12 internal testing seems to have started for Xiaomi 11 Lite NE, Xiaomi 11T, Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 JE (called Redmi Note 10T in India), and Chinese market exclusive Xiaomi Civi.

In another development, Xiaomi has also suspended MIUI China Beta ROM for several handsets including Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G (POCO X3 GT), Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition (POCO F3 GT).

The company temporarily suspended the MIUI China Beta updates for these handsets due to the upcoming Android version upgrade. This means that we can expect these devices to get the Android 12 update, at least in China, in the coming weeks.
