November 2022 update fixes display issues in Pixel 7 & 7 Pro, app power consumption issue in Pixel 6 series


Google has released November 2022 update for the Pixel phones that brings the November 2022 Android security patch along with bug fixes and improvements for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series.

This fixes app power consumption issue in Pixel 6 series, and fixes green display flicker as well as display power consumption issues that were reported by some Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users.

In a reply to a question from an Indian user, the company once again said that it is actively working with Indian carriers to turn on 5G functionality as soon as possible. This is expected with the December update along with the Pixel feature drop.

Availability

The November 2022 update / security update is already rolling to all supported Pixel smartphones running Android 13. The list of devices includes the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The update will also be made available to Pixel 6a users later this month. Check out the changelog below.

  • Fix for issue occasionally causing green display flicker in certain conditions in Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro
  • Optimizations for display power consumption to improve thermal performance in certain conditions in Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro

System

  • Fix for issue occasionally causing Photos app to crash when using certain editing features in Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro
