Jio Platforms unveils ‘JioBrain’ AI platform for seamless ML integration

Jio Platforms has introduced JioBrain, an artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed to seamlessly integrate machine learning (ML) capabilities into telecom operator networks, enterprise setups, and industry-specific IT environments.

Key Features of JioBrain AI Platform

Aayush Bhatnagar, Senior Vice President at Jio Platforms, shared this development on LinkedIn, stating that after two years of intensive research and development involving hundreds of engineers.

The platform to offer a comprehensive set of over 500 REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and data APIs, facilitating the creation of ML-enabled services.

The platform enables the creation of ML-enabled services, providing tailored enterprise and large-scale ML capabilities, along with advanced AI features for images, videos, text, documents, speech, and in-built AI algorithms as on-demand services.

Transformative Potential and Future Outlook

According to Bhatnagar, JioBrain is poised to catalyze the creation of new 5G services, transform enterprises, optimize networks, and lay the groundwork for 6G development where ML plays a pivotal role.

This initiative aligns with Mukesh Ambani’s vision for Jio Platforms to lead the development of India-specific AI models and solutions across various domains.

Jio’s AI Ambitions

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, emphasized AI as the next growth frontier for Jio in August of the previous year. He announced plans to create up to 2,000 MW of AI-ready computing capacity across cloud and edge locations.

The collaboration with NVIDIA, announced in September 2023, aimed to build cloud-based AI compute infrastructure using advanced NVIDIA’s advanced GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and Nvidia DGX Cloud, a cloud-based AI supercomputing service.

The infrastructure, hosted in AI-ready computing clan centers, is set to expand to 2,000 MW, with execution and implementation managed by Jio.

In the introduction of the JioBrain AI Platform, Senior Vice President (SVP) Aayush Bhatnagar from Jio expressed,

We welcome collaboration with like-minded AI/ML researchers to generate value and expand the Jio Brain innovation ecosystem.
