Google multisearch lets you search using text and images at the same time

Google has announced the launch of a new multisearch feature aimed at assisting users with challenging web searches. While searching for something in a different color or even a new piece of furniture that matches what you currently have in your home is normally a simple procedure, it’s not always the case. Google is attempting to make those searches easier with multisearch by utilizing AI.

For the time being, Google claims that shopping results are the ideal use case for multisearch. On Thursday, the Google app for Android and iOS users in the United States will begin receiving a beta version of this feature. Simply open a photo from your gallery or click the camera symbol next to the microphone icon, select what you want to search for, and swipe up on your results to show an “add to search” button where you may input a little more information.

Speaking of the multisearch feature, Belinda Zeng, Product Manager, Search, said:

All this is made possible by our latest advancements in artificial intelligence, which is making it easier to understand the world around you in more natural and intuitive ways. We’re also exploring ways in which this feature might be enhanced by MUM– our latest AI model in Search– to improve results for all the questions you could imagine asking. This is available as a beta feature in English in the U.S., with the best results for shopping searches. Try out multisearch today in the Google app, the best way to search with your camera, voice and now text and images at the same time.
