Apple may launch 15-inch MacBook with M2 and M2 Pro options

A couple of days ago, we reported that Apple is working on a 15-inch variant of the MacBook Air that will launch in 2023. Now fresh rumours have surfaced claiming that the 15-inch MacBook model will come in two variants – one with an M2 chip and one with an M2 Pro chip.

Well known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has tweeted new predictions for the rumoured 15-inch MacBook model. According to him, the 15-inch MacBook laptop is expected to go into mass production in the first half of 2023, and launch by the end of Q2, 2023.

Regarding the processor, two variants are expected. The first will be a regular M2 model with 35W power adapter, and the second will be a more powerful M2 Pro model with a 67W power adapter. For reference, the base model MacBook Air with M2 inside comes with a 30W adapter by default in the box.

Previous rumours from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggest that Apple is also working on a 12-inch MacBook model that will launch in 2024. However, Ming-Chi Kuo has not heard anything about this particular model.
